Language Grid　 -NDYS-

"Language Grid is an online multilingual service platform which enables easy registration and sharing of language services such as online dictionaries, bilingual corpora, and machine translations."

Use of Language Grid on NDYS project

Participating schools from various countries at Natural Disaster Youth Summit online collaborating learning with the theme of " Let's create global disaster safety map".

We are using video-conferencing and English BBS for communication. However, students and teachers who did not use English as in Japan, Russia, Senegal had difficulty in writing English message on chat screens of video-conferencing or BBS.

They now use language input to translate their messages in their native language into English. The tool collaboration possible.

Language Grid Project

Several research groups including NICT, universities, and NTT started developing a language infrastructure on the Internet called the Language Grid. This project is based on collaboration between industry, government, universities, and citizens.
