防災世界子ども会議（NDYS）では、2007年度の活動のまとめとして、「気候変動と防災」をテーマに、4月28日から30日、トリニダード・トバゴのチャガラマスにて、『防災世界子ども会議２００８inトリニダード・トバゴ』国際会議を開催しました。会議にはトリニダードトバゴの生徒をはじめ、トルコ、アルゼンチン、スエーデン、スリナメ、アメリカそして日本の7カ国から約300名の参加があり、力強い発表が数多くありました。参加の子どもたちは、それぞれの母国語で宣言文を宣誓し、NDYS2008宣言文はポートオブスペイン市長により公式に調印されました。

グローバル災害安全マップ 2008

　　生徒自身が、NDYSを通じて世界の自然災害を知るきっかけをつくり、『災害安全マップ』づくりを通して、災害のリスク管理への意識を高め、すべての国・地域を共通の目的をもった国際的なつながりの中に結びつけることにより、グローバルな気候変動に適応しようという内容のNDYS2008宣言文を採択しました。
