FUKIAI
SHS students taught lessons of Natural Disasters NDYS, through
Video Conferencing connecting Taiwan and Japan
Students
from six countries including Iran, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and
others gathered in “Natural Disaster Youth Summit 2006 in
Taiwan” to consider disaster management. This
Video Conferencing connecting Taiwan and JICA Hyogo, Kobe,
Japan was held on January 7.
About 100 students from Fukiai SHS, Awaji SHS and others
joined in the meeting here in Kobe.
Fukiai SHS
students introduced the Global Disaster Safety Map nearby their
school as well as survey results about Natural Disasters like a
typhoon and an eruption. They
spoke to the members on the importance of getting
along well with all their neighbors and knowing more about
the safety places.
In addition,
they sang a
song “SHIAWASE HAKOBERUYOUNI” which resulted from quake-hit
areas, Kobe.
Students
from Malaysia made a presentation about the damage from the
Sumatra earthquake in 2004. Students
from Taiwan had a quiz contest regarding earthquakes and also
interactive questions and answers such as “What kind of measures
against tsunami has the Japanese government taken?”
